hey everyone,
i've always loved Thomas Dolby and maybe some of you do too.
he's on tour at the moment, touring with one BT (he also makes very cool music)
if you get the chance, you should go to this show. it will be at once nostalgic and foward-looking with visual treats for your eyes.
some of you St. Pete area people can go to the Dec. 17 show at the State Theater in St. Pete.

also, check out the interview (podcast) with Mr. Dolby on Remember Skyfeathers forum member Steve Spears' Stuck in the 80's blog :

podcast:

(that link will take you to the podcast page, Dolby interview may be down in the list of previous podcasts depending on when you click on it, i.e. today or 3 weeks from now)

i'm going to the Dec. 19 show in Norfolk, VA - have waited since the early 80's, it'll totally be a dream come true... TOTALLY!

ok, Thomas Dolby was fantabulous. that was one of the best shows i've been to in a long time. i only wish he could have played more songs.

he has released a dvd of this concert tour which is a good second best if you didn't see him in person. i recommend watching it on a digital projector with a big-ass loud-as-hell sound system.
barring that, you can check out some samples of the concert dvd at his site here:

watch Dolby construct the intros to the songs right before your eyes....

if you only know him for She Blinded Me With Science or Hyperactive or Europa and the Pirate Twins, you're missing out on some truly engaging music. he's also a nice man, a humble man (i met him after the show - giggle giggle).
