Hey there everyone! My name is Marius! I am originally from Ventura California from a nice saburb called Thousand Oaks. Thousand Oaks is about 45 mins from Hollywood here in California. Until now, I thought I was the only person on Earth who had a great time in 1985. Though I was never at Skyfeathers, I was often at our local version of Skyfeathers. Our nightclub was called Xenon West. We were hundreds of New wave, punk rockers, mods & of course there were those sophisticated girls who dressed someplace between Cosmopolitan & Desperately Seeking Suzanne types. I was a New Waver when I danced at Xenon West, Phases & 321. I later went on to get heavily into punk rock & just went to shows when I turned 16. 1985 was a great time for me. I realize that now more than ever as I get older. I remember dancing with my first girlfriend Rorie. We danced to White Lines by Grand Master Flash, Sex Dwarf by Soft Cell, Relax by Frankie goes to Hollywood, & of course Rorie's favorite, Nasty girl by Vanity 6. Later Rorie had a little surprise for me. She whisked me off to the beach where we had sex in the back of her baby blue chevy Vega. After, we smoked cloves & went dancing at Phases which was a gay nightclub. Of course our generation was way more inclusive & sensitive to other people's feelings. Having sex with Rorie in the back of her car was my first experience with a first love. It was a wonderful time & I always felt that Generation X was the perfect Generation to grow up with. I have some pictures from that time that I have uploaded. I have tons of stories from that time that I can share with all of you. I am sure that all of you can relate. I have seen your pictures, & every one of you looks like someone who would have fit in real nice with our group on the West coast. . .

thanks for relating some of your stories too, many of us can relate - REALLY relate!

oh, and clove ciggarettes - on the rare occasion i smell someone smoking cloves, it takes me right back to the smoke/haze of those days.

Thanks for replying Ross! By the way! Skyfeathers is not the only nightclub scene that has a myspace page. If you go to myspace & type Xenon West, you will see that we have a page as well. But I like your skyfeathers page wayyy more!!! You guys are way more organized with the floor layout, the pictures of everyone plus the lists of names, songs played & of course your forum. I wish we had something like that. We only have current pictures of adults as they are today versus the fact that they were once super cool New wavers & punk rockers. Current pictures are usually disasters, except for a few girls I knew long ago who are actually way hotter now than they were when they were 16. The story I wrote for you is not really anything the average generation Xr could relate to, but I do promise that the next story coming this weekend 100% of you will feel nostalgic & totally relate to. It includes plenty of cloves, tons of Dep, awesome songs green glowing lint on the deep purple black light lit faces of hundreds of 80s teens dancing the night away. . .

looks like some of the Xenon West crew have had a proper reunion!
we might have a Skyfeathers reunion in the works as well for later this year - depending on how things develop... and the economy, of course.
